Did anyone try charming the green-named spiders in pre-searing? I remember reading a few posts about it, but recall the outcomes.
As for Scapes, he's a nice pet too. A bit prone to violence, though. |

Do you mean the moss spiders? A friend of mine charmed one this past beta. Very cool. They'd go great with a necromancer/ranger, if anyone were ever inclined to play such a combination.

Edit: Scratch that, since it seems from the above post that you can. Doesn't make sense, for the reason above, but whatever floats Arena.net's boat. You just had to post that right before I posted this, didn't you? |

Yes, it certainly looked like he had one following him around and fighting for him. I'm pretty sure it was a moss spider... It was one of the small ones, that don't drop down from the trees. It was definately a spider, though.

Most interesting.
Perhaps my lizard was tameable as well. Wish I'd tried it Sunday rather than just have gone off of what happened earlier on in the beta. -- Scaper-X Last edited by Scaper-X; Mar 25, 2005 at 01:31 AM // 01:31.. Reason: Clarification |

I'm starting to doubt myself, now. I wish I'd bothered to take a few screenshots.

If he was partied with you then you should know. The spider would have shown up in the party window as part of you group.

Everyone seems to be forgetting the CAT! No, the Lynx is not the cat.

There's the Lynx (which has additional modifiers) and then there's Melandru's Stalker.

As an addendum to the above, spiders are not insects either, though they are still animals. They are in fact also arthropods, but diverge after that point falling into the class arachnida (subphylum cheliceriformes), along with scorpions, whip scorpions and ticks for example.
Has anyone actually charmed a bear? I heard they use a Charm Breaker skill or some such. |

Unless I'm mistaken, the higher one's Beast Mastery, the less time it takes to charm an animal.
